661-323-4000 tel James A. Yoro's primary areas of practice are in Workers' Compensation and Social Security disability claims. Mr. Yoro won one of the largest Workers' Compensation settlements in Kern County, 4.5 million dollars.

Upon graduation, he worked as a staff attorney with Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance. In 1982, he joined the CHAIN | COHN | STILES law firm as an associate, handling both a civil and criminal trial case load. In 1987, he became a partner with the firm and he now manages the Workers' Compensation and Social Security disability departments full time. In his practice, Mr. Yoro has argued cases before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeal and the California Supreme Court (see State Farm v. W.C.A.B/Leonard, 16 CAL. 4th 1187). Mr. Yoro is a member of the Board of Governors of California Applicant Attorney's Association and the Board of Directors for Greater Bakersfield Legal Assistance. He is also a sustaining member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimant's Representatives, American Trial Lawyers Association, Consumer Attorneys of California and the Kern County Bar Association. He has also been a past board member of Kern Regional Center (an agency that provides services to mentally handicapped and developmentally disabled residents of Kern County). Mr. Yoro frequently serves as a guest speaker and lecturer in his area of specialty to local organizations, agencies and seminars, and a past sponsor during the Filipino weekend celebration held in Delano, California. Mr. Yoro has been married to his lovely wife, Reverie since 1979. They have two children: Kelsey, a 2008 graduate of UC Davis and Carli, who attends Highland High School. In his spare time, Mr. Yoro enjoys basketball, softball, tennis and other outdoor sports and participates in local Filipino community activities.
