David V. Stiles is a former senior partner, currently serves as “of counsel” to the firm, and is one of the most veteran personal injury attorneys in California.
David is a Martindale-Hubbell AV preeminent-rated trial attorney, who has tried over 50 cases to a jury. Before transitioning to “of counsel,” he has been with the firm for nearly 40 year. He has extensive experience in personal injury, wrongful death and elder abuse cases.
He is a graduate of Bakersfield High School, where he served as student body president, then received a bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara with honors. He graduated from law school at UC Hasting College of Law in 1976 and started with the then Chain firm in 1977, becoming a partner five years later. He recently served as the president of the San Joaquin Valley Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an organization comprised of recognized trial attorneys.
David has been deeply committed to and involved with CASA of Kern County, an organization devoted to helping children find a voice in court dependency proceedings. He served on the board of CASA for 6 years, and has been a sponsor and program partner of the organization for 20 years. CASA trains volunteers from the community to work with abused and neglected children, and to be their non-attorney spokesperson in court. He has taught at the Kern County Superintendent of Schools-sponsored “Coaches Clinic” for more than 20 years on the topic of legal issues in sports. As a result of his experience litigating elder abuse cases, David also has served as a panelist for the California Association for Nursing Home Reform.
