Police Crash | Hernandez v. City of Bakersfield
Presumed to be heading to help other officers chasing down a suspect in a reportedly stolen car, Bakersfield Police officers in a patrol car in Lamont the early morning of Jan. 19.
A preliminary investigation by the California Highway Patrol shows the officers in the patrol car didn’t brake at a stop sign while going at a “high rate of speed” when it collided into another vehicle, according to a search warrant filed in Kern County Superior Court. The crash killed the driver of the other vehicle and severly injured our client, Ana Hernandez, as they were heading home from working at Grimmway Farms.
