The 23-year-old coach pled no contest to a felony charge related to his contact with a minor and was sentenced to 6 months in jail, community service, felony probation, and must register as a lifetime sex offender. In response to the girl’s lawsuit, attorneys for the school district, in bucking responsibility, threatened to counter-sue the girl for attorney expenses — as high as $70,000 — if she did not drop the suit. A man convicted of killing an unborn baby in Delano back in 2016 while driving drunk was sentenced to 9 years in prison. This comes days before the sixth Bakersfield Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash aimed to raise awareness of the DUI problem in our local communities, raise funds for local MADD Kern County educational programs, and provide support to local victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes. Kern County came together Saturday morning at the Park at River Walk to support victims of DUI crashes, call for an end of drunk and drugged driving, and raise more than $60,000 in the process. The sixth annual Bakersfield Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash – presented by Chain | Cohn | Clark – is aimed to raise awareness of the DUI problem in locally, raise funds for MADD Kern County’s educational programs and victim services, and support local victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes. Bringing out more than 800 walkers and runners for this cause, the event featured a kid’s fun run, 5K and 10K in what has become one of the largest fundraising walking and running events in Kern County, according to Bakersfield Track Club.
An Eyewitness News investigation found that school employees, put on administrative leave while they were being investigated, earned a combined $162,000 — including cases involving victims represented by Chain | Cohn | Clark. Once you factor in the cost of substitute teachers and legal fees, roughly $250,000 of taxpayer money was spent on these educators who were not educating anyone. Chain | Cohn | Clark law firm has filed claims on behalf of students who were victims of sexual misconduct at North High School.

Kern County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Edwin Rodriguez on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with minors 14 to 15 years old, exhibiting harmful matter to a minor, annoying a child under 18 and false imprisonment. Local media reported 10 people came forward to investigators alleging inappropriate physical contact and other unwanted interaction by Rodriguez while he worked as an athletic equipment manager at North High School.

A $3.8 million lawsuit settlement was reached between the County of Kern and the family of an Oildale motorcyclist who was killed in a 2015 crash with a sheriff’s sergeant. The man’s family was represented by Matt Clark of Chain | Cohn | Clark in the wrongful death lawsuit. Maharrey died after his motorcycle collided with a Kern County Sheriff’s Office patrol car at Norris Road and Airport Drive.

Give Big Kern, our community’s day of giving observed on May 1, garnered more than $162,000 for 114 nonprofits in Kern County. Chain | Cohn | Clark was glad to play a role in fundraising, donating to two worthy nonprofits: MADD Kern County and Bike Bakersfield. We donated $2,000 for Bike Bakersfield’s Project Light up the Night program, which gives out free safety helmets and bike lights in areas of Bakersfield where they are needed the most. Milton Younger, an esteemed former partner of Chain | Cohn | Clark who spent 53 years at the law firm, died at age 86 on Sept. 1, 2017. Milt Younger was born July 8, 1931 in Bakersfield. Milt joined the law firm founded by Morris B. Chain full time in 1956, and took over leadership in 1964. A man convicted of killing an unborn baby in Delano back in 2016 while driving drunk was sentenced to 9 years in prison. This comes days before the sixth Bakersfield Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash aimed to raise awareness of the DUI problem in our local communities, raise funds for local MADD Kern County educational programs, and provide support to local victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes. Kern County came together Saturday morning at the Park at River Walk to support victims of DUI crashes, call for an end of drunk and drugged driving, and raise more than $60,000 in the process. The sixth annual Bakersfield Walk Like MADD & MADD Dash – presented by Chain | Cohn | Clark – is aimed to raise awareness of the DUI problem in locally, raise funds for MADD Kern County’s educational programs and victim services, and support local victims and survivors of drunk and drugged driving crashes. Bringing out more than 800 walkers and runners for this cause, the event featured a kid’s fun run, 5K and 10K in what has become one of the largest fundraising walking and running events in Kern County, according to Bakersfield Track Club.
An Eyewitness News investigation found that school employees, put on administrative leave while they were being investigated, earned a combined $162,000 — including cases involving victims represented by Chain | Cohn | Clark. Once you factor in the cost of substitute teachers and legal fees, roughly $250,000 of taxpayer money was spent on these educators who were not educating anyone. Kern County Sheriff’s Office has arrested Edwin Rodriguez on suspicion of lewd and lascivious acts with minors 14 to 15 years old, exhibiting harmful matter to a minor, annoying a child under 18 and false imprisonment. Local media reported 10 people came forward to investigators alleging inappropriate physical contact and other unwanted interaction by Rodriguez while he worked as an athletic equipment manager at North High School.

As KGET-17 reports, local authorities in March 2011 made a gruesome discovery in a vineyard just outside of Arvin. Only now have detectives made this case public in an effort to ID the woman and open an avenue for leads that will lead to the killer’s capture. A $3.8 million lawsuit settlement was reached between the County of Kern and the family of an Oildale motorcyclist who was killed in a 2015 crash with a sheriff’s sergeant. The man’s family was represented by Matt Clark of Chain | Cohn | Clark in the wrongful death lawsuit. Maharrey died after his motorcycle collided with a Kern County Sheriff’s Office patrol car at Norris Road and Airport Drive.

Milton Younger, an esteemed former partner of Chain | Cohn | Clark who spent 53 years at the law firm, died at age 86 on Sept. 1, 2017. Milt Younger was born July 8, 1931 in Bakersfield. Milt joined the law firm founded by Morris B. Chain full time in 1956, and took over leadership in 1964. In 2008, He separated from the firm, and the law firm’s name was changed from Chain Younger to Chain | Cohn | Clark.
